A cutesy gift shop geared for the likes of almost any woman. The shop is strategically placed across from the John Deere Museum, making a safe haven for women to escape those intimidating green machines.

 

John Deere Pavilion

Meanwhile, the men (and some women) may stand in awe of an eclectic display of tractors which may be credited for having given Moline a name. The museum features the older models of John Deere’s conception alongside the newest of technology it has to offer farmers across the globe.

 

The I-Wireless CenterThe I-Wireless Center is one of the larger entertainment venues in the Quad Cities and claims home to the QC Flames hockey team. Upcoming acts at the I-Wireless include The Eagles, The Beach Boys and Keith Urban. 

 

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse

A restaurant which invokes the idea of visiting a 40’s dinner club. Neither the food nor the music will bring disappointment to your meal.

 

Cafe Fresh! 

A pleasant little cafe I have a feeling most Quad Citians are unaware of. It’s a great place to pick up a fresh (no pun intended) wrap, soup and salad or to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee.

The Figge Art Museum

A gem of an art museum with a location providing stunning views of the Mississippi River. The Figge houses an impressive permanent collection and has another two floors of featured exhibits. In April the University of Iowa’s collection will be on display,  which includes two Pollocks and a Picasso.

Duck City BistroA unique little eatery you would expect to find in Europe. The head chef, Charles, was trained in Paris and traditionally welcomes his guests as they arrive. Order the Duck City duck breast and he’ll even write your name on the plate.

Logamarciano’s – old-fashioned ice cream parlor 

 

I may not have been born in the 50’s, but I was greeted with a strange sense of familiarity when I walked in the door. This old school confectionary produces tasty candy and likely the best hot fudge sundae in the world. Logamarciano’s has it’s original location in downtown Moline.

My favorite used bookshop in the QCA (to the present). The older couple who own the shop are incredibly nice and easy to strike up a conversation with. The lady is an Augie alum.
